  • My mates and I can thoroughly recommend. A very friendly company, everything was arranged perfectly for our 4 day trip exploring the wonderful country of Lithuania. We go somewhere every year since 23 years, and this was the first time using e-bikes. It was also one of the best! The bikes supplied were excellent. All my communications with Saulius the owner were easy and friendly and very efficient. Easily a 10 out of 10 experience. Nei Watson, Great Britain, 2022
  • Dear Baltic Bike Travel Team, We would like to thank you very much for the perfect organization of the bike tour from Vilnius to Tallinn. Everything worked out great - even the weather played along with sun, sun, sun. Igor was a great travel companion who did his job confidently in every situation - with a high level of commitment and obvious joy. We are taking home many very good impressions from the three Baltic states. Gitta and Steffen Hoy, Germany, 2021 (self-guided supported cycle tour of the Baltics: from Vilnius to Tallinn, SG11)
  • I was part of Ann Scolnick's tour from Tallin to Vilnius.  I was extremely pleased and satisfied with our tour. The organization, and hotels were excellent.  Our meals outside of the hotels were better than the ones provided in the hotels.  The best part of our tour was our guide Vaida!  She was exceptional, in fact better than any guide I have had during any of my extensive travels.  I will recommend your company to my friends, and hope they also will be lucky enough to have such a wonderful guide.

  • The cycling trip has been the highlight of the year my life :)  for me. It was 10/10 all the way. I wouldn't change a thing and have told my friends they should go.
Thank you so much for an incredible experience. I knew little about your part of the world . . . and now I only want to know more. The Curonian Spit is beautiful. It's all beautiful.
Plus, with the help of Redas and Igor I was able to make a detour and find the house my uncle built where my mom lived in the Kaliningrad Oblast until 1945.
Kudos to each of you for making me feel welcome and for anticipating and meeting my interests and needs. Seriously, you guys are amazing!!

  • My wife and I loved the Baltic self-guided tour of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.  The route selected meant each day had a good piece of riding on quiet roads or bike paths through interesting countryside plus stops in all of the major cities and towns.  Our small group got on very well together.

  • Yes we had a good trip. Saw some nice nature and pleasant villages. The hotels were also good. And the bikes. The driver drove us fast and safe from / to Riga. And we were lucky with the weather. Just a few drops of rain the last day. Mostly sunny. It rained a lot more in Sweden during that week. Best regards,

We have cycled in France, Italy, Scotland, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Greece, Germany, the Czech Republic and Ireland in all kinds of landscapes ... so we have some guided cycle tours to compare with. • Wishing to see a part of the world we knew little about, we 6 friends took a chance on BalticBike and were not disappointed. We had great support on our custom trip from Vilnius to Tallinn, including the support we had for an unexpected trip to the emergency room in Lithuania.  The contrast of the capital cities and the rural national parks was visually impressive.  We would not hesitate to recommend BalticBikes, professionally managed from start to finish.

We recently returned to Canada from our cycling trip in Latvia and Estonia... We were exceptionally pleased with the entire cycling trip.  The route was magnificent and we appreciate that we avoided major roads to the extent possible and practical. The guides and instructions were clear.  We had zero problems with the bicycles.  The accommodation that was selected was generally exceptionally good.  We ate and drank well the entire trip!
We appreciate your help and support in answering our numerous inquiries both before and during the trip...
We have certainly been telling our friends about our wonderful experience.  We hope to go on another trip some time in the future.
Best wishes, David and Donna Cole, Ottawa, Canada 2019 (self-guided cycle tour from Riga to Tallinn, SG4)

Dear Saulius, We're actually back home in Switzerland. I didn't continue the tour on my own as it was an exceptional experience which I didn't want to bury under more new perceptions and emotions. Your bike went with us from Klaipeda to Vente-Silute-Rusne-Sovetsk-Gusev-Oserski-Cernjahovsk-Poliessk-Kaliningrad-Zelenogradsk- Nida and back into its garage in Klaipeda. It always worked fine. We experienced enormous discrepancies

- between Lithuania and Russia: One of our specific perceptions was that in Luthuanian gardens vegetables and flowers are grown with much care, whereas in Russia - same climate, same soil - the gardens often looked neglected and meagre. It made us think about the living conditions and physical and mental ressources of people, about activeness, energy on one side, about a kind of tristesse (and even resignation ?) on the other side. BUT: We met a lot of very friendly people, explicitely also in Russia, and we had some really cordial encounters.
- inside Russia between neglected buildings/villages/environments on one hand side and absolute fantastic landscapes around the lagoon and on the spit. As in Russia they are actually still in the process of developping tourism and in Lithuania tourism is already established on a quite high level for us - Switzerland is a densely-packed country - the Russian side of the Lagoon and the Spit was more attractive than for example Nida, which left a kind of sterile impression.

But what we realised most is, that all of us should not focus on discrepancies, but more on peace and respect. The position of your country close to the Russian border made us aware of certain tensions and fears which I hope will dissolve in a peaceful neighbourhood, which is important for all Europe. In this sense I wish you all the best, thanks and compliments again for the perfect service!
Kind regards - René Graf, Switzerland, 2018 (self-guided cycle tour around the Curonian Lagoon, Lithuania-Russia, SG5)

The self guided 11 day tour of the Baltics with Baltic Bike travel was sensational! Well organised, informative, varied and flexible it provided the perfect introduction to the Baltics on a bike! Although it was self guided,Alius, our friendly driver, was there at every step of the way to make sure we went the right way, while also providing background information about life in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia and tips on good places to eat.

Every day provided something new and interesting from castles, to forests, beautiful old towns, beaches, villages and rural landscapes.  Alius also adjusted the schedule to suit our needs, for example when we felt too tired to cycle on the last day and also took care of a member of our team who became sick and couldn't cycle. He was fantastic!
I highly recommend this tour and Baltic Bike Travels and can't wait to do another of their tours.

Recently completed a 23 day, self guided cycle tour from Klaipeda, in Lithuania, to Tallin in Estonia. Saulius, at Baltic Bike Travel was most helpful in arranging the hire bikes, panniers, bar bags, tools & maps. He promptly responded to our queries, via email, & when we picked the bikes up was very helpful with suggestions on routes to take. Bikes were of a very high standard & perfectly suited to the tour. We would not hesitate to recommend Baltic Bike Travel to other travellers looking to explore the Baltic states, at a somewhat sedate pace. Thanks for all your help
Bernard Roberts - Australia, 2018 (self-guided tour from Klaipeda to Tallinn)

We had a fabulous tour from Riga to a Tallinn thanks to Baltic Bikes. The bikes were great, exactly what we needed for the road conditions. All worked perfectly.
The van was spot on too, it worked very well for us. We did all get in it at one point, where we cycled 15km passed the hotel on day one, to reduce the miles for day two, whereupon the van took us and the bikes back to the hotel, and dropped us at the same point the next morning. All just as we had considered may be required. Perfect.
Finally Igor was amazing. He understood exactly what we needed and was at every point I wanted him to be at, and really made the whole tour easy. He fitted in with our team and helped with taking pictures, translating and organising. We could not have hoped for anyone better to be with us. Well done Igor.
Anyway, many many thanks for you help with this trip. Best regards

We have been back in Belgium for a week now and often think of the beautiful trip we have made through the Baltic States! It was our first bike trip and we did not know how everything would go. Where we were initially skeptical about the idea of cycling in a group, we have to admit: It was a direct hit!
The enthusiasm with which Romas introduced us with these regions, his way to guide, his jokes and also the international travel companions to which we were also presented from the first evening, quickly led to a group feeling.
When we decided to make a day out for ourselves on the Curonian spit, we really enjoyed it, but we quickly realized that we had to find our way regularly and that we were very dependent on the smartphone. ( which failed sometimes.)
Afterwards we stayed with the group and we noticed that Romas regularly deviated from "our" route, to take smaller and more beautiful roads and regularly stopped at places where we might otherwise have passed by! Also for finding a suitable lunch spot it was much easier to rely on someone who knows it all very well! We are very grateful to you, Ramos, and Albinas, the driver - who was also very friendly and helpful - for the beautiful holiday...
Erik en Marleen Schroyens – Roels, Belgium, 2018 (combination of guided and self-guided tours of the Baltics, G1+SG11)

We have arrived home after the Baltic Bike trip with Ramos from Vilnius to Talinn. It was fantastic, absolutely wonderful. We've done bike trips in Europe and the US with other groups and this trip was the very best. Of course we loved the country side and the weather was an unexpected bonus.
But the real advantage of this ride was Ramos. He is a leader with knowledge beyond any tour guide.....he offered us information on the history, the culture, the geography, the religion, the botany....everything.....the best teacher/guide possible. But, beyond that, his personality is ideal for this....he understood group dynamics and the group really connected because he drew us together; building bridges between the German speakers and the English speakers, providing humor, music, etc. And the biking was perfect....the distances worked well, the scenery and places he chose to stop were ideal.
You've done a really good job with the pace of the trip...the 2 days in Klaipedia, 3 in Riga, 2 on the island. Good hotel, simple logistics (for the guests anyway) And, the stops were at interesting places. Albinis was a really good driver and such a friendly, helpful person to have with us. Due to an old injury, I spent one afternoon on the bus. Albinis was informative and made me feel less badly about missing the biking....a really caring man and very careful with the bikes.

Hello, I wanted to tell you what a fabulous trip I had riding through Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia in July/August.
It was simply magic to be riding through three totally different countries, taking in the picturesque countryside and hearing the history of so many of the places that we rode through from our guide Romas - he has such interesting and wide knowledge of the countries which made the trip as much of a sightseeing trip as it was a bike tour - and I personally can't thank him enough. I truly hadn't realised what beautiful countries all three are.
Our bikes were so comfortable that we merely got on them and off we went on our discovery tour - no complaints there!
The riding was, as the trip notes said, introductory to moderate - some people had not been on a bike for some time but managed the trip just fine - just one hill which tested the best of us!  It was fine to get off the bike and walk and I did!!
When travelling long distances we merely hopped in our comfortable bus - complete with trailer full of bikes attached - and relaxed in comfort and listened to Romas' commentary - always so much to be learned from him about the landscape and people as we travelled along.
Our days were filled with beautiful vistas of country and coastal areas, medieval towns, castles, churches, museums - so many memories  to take away with us all.
We were assured of a good nights sleep in excellent accommodation with more than adequate breakfasts to get us on the road for another days adventure of riding in the Baltic countries.
Thanks to guides Romas and Jana and the two bus drivers (whose names escape me)
This was a fabulous tour, I loved every day of it - and I would say to anyone considering the tour. -  JUST DO IT!!
Regards,

Hi Linara, We just wanted to let you know that we have dropped off the bicycles, along with the 2 cycle helmets, handlebar bags, locks & tachometer at the security office in hotel Marina Club. We didn't need to use any of the tools... We had a great trip. Very varied & interesting & the hotels were all excellent. Thanks for everything.
Karen & Gary, UK, 2016 (self-guided tour from Klaipeda to Gdansk: Lithuania-Russia-Poland)

Hi Saulius, The bikes were very good, even better as the ones we have at home, Very solid bikes with good front suspension which was very helpful on the gravel roads. So everythiing with the bikes was pefect for us. In Lithunia we enjoyed the cycle tracks near the sea. In Latvia we took the way along the coast and we had the choice between gravel road or paved roads. We mostly followed the european cycle track Nr.1 to Riga, where we stayed some days. The weather was fairly good, only one day with rain and then really hot in Riga.
Stefan, Germany, 2016 (self-guided tour with own route from Klaipeda to Riga)

the trip was excellent. Regardless of sometimes really tough road conditions we never had a flat tire again or any problems with the bikes. Thank you a lot for providing us with this quality bikes. We enjoyed it a lot and will definitly recommend you.

“Hi Saulius, It was a great day - enjoyed riding in the rain - preferable to the insect swarms on the ride back! Yes, flat just at start of return - a little unnerving since we had the ship to get to but fortunately did not get another one. Thanks for the great service. The goulish wood sculptures were just that - great photo props! Best to you - you live in a lovely country and have the most beautiful women in the Baltic!”

“Our cycling-group has spent 10 days in Lithuania and explored your country on Baltic Bike Travel route “Vilnius-Curonian Spit-Klaipeda" – we all want to thank you again for your efforts and great assistance in planning and organizing our individual intentions to realize our this years cycling idea. All services in your responsibility were efficient, precise and highly appreciated. We all came back well and safe into our home countries and will keep the pleasant experiences during our cycling-tour in Lithuania and your very good services in our memories. In the groups name and with our best wishes for you.”

"Now we are back from a most interesting and well-organized "Baltic Capital City" guided bicycle tour. We have cycled in France, Italy, Scotland, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Greece, Germany, the Czech Republic and Ireland in all kinds of landscapes ... so we have some guided cycle tours to compare with.

My husband and I are so very satisfied with the whole tour. It was just what we expected except for some extra positive factors.

Of all our cycling guides we have had, Marius takes the lead! Such a pleasant, knowledgeable and diplomatic person and with such a good sense of humour - never have the two of us had so much fun along the roads and at the tables! Our driver, Linas, was everywhere every time serving water, carrying luggage, honking the horn, waving from the bus. The bicycles were excellent except for some trouble they had to cope with the fine sand that caused the brakes to wear. You could not have planned a better tour for us, and it was with great sadness I said goodbye to my good workhorse, woman's No. 7.

Wish you all the best with your business ... and thank you for another three European countries in our cycling lives!”
Anita Bostrom-Baversten, Sweden, 2011 (tour G1)

“We are back in the Netherlands, and I can tell you that we enjoyed the trip very much. The hotels were good, some less that others, but over all it was fine. Sometimes we could not find the right way, but with the map and the description you gave us, sometimes asking, we came at time in the next town...

In the Netherlands, most people cycle. You can see that this is different in your country. But the distances in our country are short. There are just a few separate bike roads, so sometimes it is difficult and dangerous on the bike, as you told us already. In general the roads were not in the condition as we are used to so when you are planning to make a bike-trip in the Baltic States you should be aware of that item. In the south, along the Nemunas River it was much better...

We liked the countries, very silent and beautiful. In the towns we visited the museums and were impressed by reading the history and seeing the pictures of your troublesome past years and centuries.

Overall it was a nice experience that we enjoyed, with a very good organisation. Thanks you again, Best regards, pagarbiai, hatelijke groeten”

“Dear mr Saulius Ružinskas,
The two Kalkhoffs you delivered us at the 20th of July at the Old Mill Hotel in Klaipeda were very good bicycles. They did a very good job along the 400 km's from Klaipeda to Riga. I did not need your electric bicycles because my injuries had healed a lot, but during the tracks longer than 70 km with temperature of more than 32 degrees Celsius, we now and then regretted that we had not chosen for them. The part in Lithuania is nicer than the track in Latvia, although after some time you get used to the very fast driving of the cars in Latvia, you never get used to the dogs that are chasing you from several farms. We want to thank you for the very good bicycles you rented us. With king regards,”
Jeroen Wehmeijer, the Netherlands, 2010 (tour SG3)

“Saulius, Thanks for all your help with our Vilnius to Tallinn trip. It was a wonderful trip and Laura was a particularly good leader. We though the trip was well-planned and executed and thoroughly enjoyed the others on this trip. Thanks again.”
