1-day Guided or Self-guided Bike&Boat Tour from Klaipeda (Code GX4 or SGX4)
Take a change to explore the most unique place in Lithuania – the Curonian Spit National Park. We’ll start this guided by bike & boat tour with a short ride along the Dane River promenade to the Old Ferry Terminal. After a short ferry ride to Smiltynė we join a newly renovated asphalt bike path of the Seaside Cycle Route (EuroVelo 10 & 13) which takes us along the Curonian Spit to Nida. En route we’ll enjoy beautiful views of the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon, have a break on golden sand beach for a swim in the sea and hopefully discovering a piece of amber washed ashore. In Juodkrantė, we might stop for lunch (not included), visit the Hill of Witches which houses a hundred fanciful and folksy wooden sculptures of Lithuanian legends scattered along a forest path and watch a colony of grey herons and cormorants. Later en route to Nida we’ll also pass two small settlements, a wooden footpath to the “Dead” dunes and the highest dune of the Curonian Spit – Vecekrugas (~67 m). After arrival in Nida, a former old fishermen’s village and nowadays one of the most beautiful resorts in Lithuania, we can visit K.Mizgiris Amber Gallery and museums (not included), go for a walk on the Great sand dune or just relax with a glass of good Lithuanian beer. In the evening, we take a boat for 2-hour ride back from Nida to Klaipėda with a short stop in Juodkrantė, en route we’ll enjoy a beautiful sunset over the impressive sand dunes.
TOUR INFORMATION
Tour distances: 58 km (36 mi.) by bike & 50 km/2 Hrs. by speed boat or minibus|
Duration: 1 day / up to 10 hours, return by boat in Klaipėda at ~19:30/7:30 pm or other time if booking a private tour
Cycling grade: All the time you will cycle on bike paths of the Lithuanian Seaside Cycle route which is mainly flat with gentle undulations and a few up and downhills near Juodkrantė.
Rider profiles: reasonably fit with some experience to very fit experienced.
E-bike/Pedelec rider profiles: easy riding even for non-experienced people!
Starting point: DU RATAI bike rental centre, Naujoji Uosto str. 3, Klaipėda (Memelio Miestas / Memel City near car parking lot at a crossroad with Naujojo Sodo Str.)
The tour could be started from Klaipėda cruise ship terminal or any other place in Klaipėda (for extra price).

For more information about our rental bikes and equipment click here - The route might be run in opposite way – start from a boat ride Klaipėda-Nida or Klaipėda-Juodkrantė (departure at 10:30 am) and cycle back to Klaipėda (might be more suitable for cruise ship passengers!)
- By the needs of all participants of the tour, the route might be shortened up to 30-35 km if cycling from Klaipėda to Juodkrantė and taking a speed boat back or minibus transfer to Klaipėda.
